Playschool: Where Play Inspires Learning

Foster independence and prepare for kindergarten through play-based learning

Our play-based playschool program emphasises hands-on learning through play. Allowing children to explore, create, and socialise in a supportive environment that fosters their cognitive, emotional, and social development.

We work alongside the Kindergarten Teacher to help prepare our students for school. The children explore literacy and numeracy concepts as well as working on their fine and gross motor skills.

The children are encouraged to build their confidence and self-reliance in daily tasks (eating/opening packages, putting bags away, changing shoes and getting dressed in winter gear).

3 year old program

$55/month

The 3 year old program runs from September to May on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:15 am to 11:25 am (times can vary)

    • Dive into books and stories that spark imagination

    • Count to three with a little help
    • Sort colorful objects or shapes while playing

    • Solve simple puzzles as a team
    • Play matching games like memory for a great time

4 year old program

$110/month

The 4 year old program runs from September to May on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:15 am to 1:15 pm (times can vary)

Our focus

  • Language Fun
    • Put together complete sentences like little storytellers
    • Ask and answer questions about our favorite tales
  • Literacy Adventures
    • Experiment with letters and letter sounds
    • Retell stories in order, adding fun details along the way
  • Number Play
    • Count all the way to ten (or even higher)
    • Learn about more and less through playful activities
  • Brain Boosters
    • Tackle some exciting puzzles that are a bit more challenging
    • Explore simple science concepts, like observing plants grow

Liability Waiver: I hereby agree to be responsible for the conduct and actions of my child/children and to release the Lampman Family Centre (LFC), including its employees and board members from any claims and demands that may occur during participation in the Before and After School Program and or any other LFC programming. Furthermore, I understand that the Lampman Family Centre and its employees and volunteers are not responsible for my child(ren) and will not be held liable for any incidents that occur outside of regular programming (Before School 7:00am-8:45am; After School 3:30pm-6:00pm; Playschool 9:15am-1:15pm).
Sickness Policy Agreement: I acknowledge that I will be provided with the Lampman Family Centre’s (LFC) sickness policy and agree to uphold its guidelines to ensure the health and safety of all participants, staff, and volunteers.
